NA61/SHINE, a large-acceptance hadron spectrometer, has recorded hadron+nucleus interactions relevant to ongoing and future long-baseline neutrino experiments at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. This paper presents three analyses of interactions of 60 GeV/c π+ with thin, fixed carbon and beryllium targets. Integrated production and inelastic cross sections were measured for both of these reactions. In an analysis of strange, neutral hadron production, differential production multiplicities of KS0, Λ and Λ were measured. Lastly, in an analysis of charged hadron production, differential production multiplicities of π+, π-, K+, K- A nd protons were measured. These measurements will enable long-baseline neutrino experiments to better constrain predictions of their neutrino flux in order to achieve better precision on their neutrino cross section and oscillation measurements.

Hence, the investigation of sub-threshold strangeness production in heavy-ion collisions is one of the most promising probes, to access the properties of the created system, as the missing energy must be provided by the latter one. For the first time, a nearly complete set of strange particles has been reconstructed in the 40% most central Au+Au collisions at. root S-NN = 2.42 GeV. The data sample includes multi-differential representations of charged and neutral particles containing strangeness (K-+/-,K-s(0), phi, Lambda). To achieve a better understanding of strangeness production the properties of the short-lived resonances have to be investigated. The first steps in this direction are presented here, including the reconstruction of baryon resonances using a new iterative technique, comparison to microscopic transport model calculations and interpretation of the pion transverse momentum distribution.
- ПубликацияТолько метаданныеDirected, Elliptic, and Higher Order Flow Harmonics of Protons, Deuterons, and Tritons in Au+Au Collisions at sNN =2.4 GeV(2020) Adamczewski-Musch, J.; Arnold, O.; Behnke, C.; Belounnas, A.; Golosov, O.; Mamaev, M.; Morozov, S.; Selyuzhenkov, I.; Голосов, Олег Владимирович; Мамаев, Михаил Валерьевич© 2020 American Physical Society.Flow coefficients vn of the orders n=1-6 are measured with the High-Acceptance DiElectron Spectrometer (HADES) at GSI for protons, deuterons, and tritons as a function of centrality, transverse momentum, and rapidity in Au+Au collisions at sNN=2.4 GeV. Combining the information from the flow coefficients of all orders allows us to construct for the first time, at collision energies of a few GeV, a multidifferential picture of the angular emission pattern of these particles. It reflects the complicated interplay between the effect of the central fireball pressure on the emission of particles and their subsequent interaction with spectator matter. The high precision information on higher order flow coefficients is a major step forward in constraining the equation of state of dense baryonic matter.

The analysis is based on total 30 million central Be + Be collisions observed in the NA61/SHINE detector at the CERN SPS for incident beam momenta of 19A, 30A, 40A, 75A, and 150A Ge/c. Measurements were carried out for unlike-sign and like-sign charge hadron pairs independently. The C(Δ η, Δ ϕ) correlation functions were compared with results from a similar analysis on p + p interactions at similar beam momenta per nucleon. General trends of the back-to-back correlations are similar in central Be + Be collisions and p + p interactions, but are suppressed in magnitude due to the increased combinatorial background. Predictions from the Epos and UrQMD models are compared to the measurements. Evolution of an enhancement around (Δ η, Δ ϕ) = (0 , 0) with incident energy is observed in central Be + Be collisions. It is not predicted by both models and almost non-existing in proton–proton collisions at the same momentum per nucleon.
- ПубликацияТолько метаданныеNew measurement of PIon directed flow relative to the spectator plane by the NA49 experiment at CERN(2019) Klochkov, V.; Kashirin, E.; Golosov, O.; Selyuzhenkov, I.; Голосов, Олег Владимирович© 2019 Jagellonian University. All rights reserved. This article reports on a new measurement of negatively charged pion directed flow v1 relative to the spectator plane for Pb+Pb collisions at the beam energy of 40A GeV/c recorded by the NA49 experiment at CERN. v1 is shown as a function of rapidity and transverse momentum in different classes of collision centrality. The projectile spectator plane is estimated using the transverse segmentation of the NA49 forward hadron calorimeter. The new results extend the NA49 data for v1, which was previously measured only relative to the participant plane, and complement recent preliminary data by the NA61/SHINE Collaboration and published results of STAR from the RHIC beam energy scan program.

Recently, the experimental setup of the NA61/SHINE experiment was supplemented with a Vertex Detector which was motivated by the importance and the possibility of the first direct measurements of open charm meson production in heavy ion collisions at SPS energies. First test data taken in December 2016 on Pb+Pb collisions at 150A GeV/c allowed to validate the general concept of D-0 meson detection via its D-0 -> pi(+) + K- decay channel and delivered a first indication of open charm production. The physics motivation of open charm measurements at SPS energies, pilot results on open charm production, and finally, the future plans of open charm measurements in the NA61/SHINE experiment after LS2 are presented.
- ПубликацияТолько метаданныеCollective flow and correlations measurements with HADES in Au plus Au collisions at 1.23 AGeV(2019) Kardan, B.; Adamczewski-Musch, J.; Arnold, O.; Arnoldi-Meadows, B.; Golosov, O.; Morozov, S.; Selyuzhenkov, I.; Strikhanov, M.; Taranenko, A.; Голосов, Олег Владимирович; Стриханов, Михаил Николаевич; Тараненко, Аркадий ВладимировичThe HADES experiment provides a large acceptance combined with a high mass resolution and therefore makes it possible to study dielectron and hadron production in heavy-ion collisions with unprecedented precision. With the high statistics of seven billion Au+Au collisions at 1.23 AGeV recorded in 2012 the investigation of collective effects and particle correlations is possible with unprecedented accuracy. We present multi-differential data on directed (v(1)) and elliptic (v(2)) flow, and the first measurement of triangular flow (v(3)), of protons and deuterons.
- ПубликацияТолько метаданныеMulti-differential pattern of low-mass e(+)e(-) excess from root S-NN=2.4 GeV Au+Au collisions with HADES(2019) Harabasz, S.; Adamczewski-Musch, J.; Arnold, O.; Arnoldi-Meadows, B.; Golosov, O.; Morozov, S.; Selyuzhenkov, I.; Strikhanov, M.; Taranenko, A.; Голосов, Олег Владимирович; Стриханов, Михаил Николаевич; Тараненко, Аркадий ВладимировичThe matter formed in central heavy-ion collisions at a few GeV per nucleon is commonly understood as resonance matter, a gas of nucleons and excited baryon states with a substantial contribution from mesonic, mostly pionic excitations. Yet, in the initial phase of the reaction the system is compressed to beyond nuclear ground state density and hence substantial modifications of the hadron properties are expected to occur. The spectral distribution of virtual photons measured in Au+Au collisions at 2.4 GeV center of mass energy indicates strong medium effects beyond pure superposition of individual NN collisions. We present multi-differential distributions of low-mass electron pairs. This radiation is remarkably well described assuming emission from a thermalized system. To gain deeper understanding of the microscopic origin of the radiation, we extracted the centrality dependent true (not blue-shifted) temperature, its azimuthal distribution, as well as mass-dependent effective slope parameter. Virtual photon spectra are confronted with available model calculations.

V.; Anticic, T.; Babkin, V.; Brandin, A. V.; Golosov, O.; Kargin, N.; Kashirin, E.; Morozov, S.; Selyuzhenkov, I.; Strikhanov, M.; Taranenko, A.; Брандин, Андрей Владимирович; Голосов, Олег Владимирович; Каргин, Николай Иванович; Стриханов, Михаил Николаевич; Тараненко, Аркадий ВладимировичThis paper presents measurements of production cross sections and inelastic cross sections for the following reactions: 60 GeV/c protons with C, Be, Al targets and 120 GeV/c protons with C and Be targets. The analysis is performed using the NA61/SHINE spectrometer at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. First measurements are obtained using protons at 120 GeV/c, while the results for protons at 60 GeV/c are compared with previously published measurements. These interaction cross section measurements are critical inputs for neutrino flux prediction in current and future accelerator-based long-baseline neutrino experiments.

V.; Anticic, T.; Brandin, A.; Golosov, O.; Kargin, N.; Kashirin, E.; Morozov, S.; Strikhanov, M.; Taranenko, A.; Брандин, Андрей Владимирович; Голосов, Олег Владимирович; Каргин, Николай Иванович; Стриханов, Михаил Николаевич; Тараненко, Аркадий ВладимировичNA61/SHINE is a fixed target experiment operating at CERN SPS. Its main goals are to search for the critical point of strongly interacting matter and to study the onset of deconfinement. For these goals a scan of the two dimensional phase diagram (T-mu(B)) is being performed at the SPS by measurements of hadron production in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus interactions as a function of collision energy. In this paper the status of the search for the critical point of strongly interacting matter by the NA61/SHINE Collaboration is presented including recent results on proton intermittency, strongly intensive fluctuation observables of multiplicity and transverse momentum fluctuations. These measurements are expected to be sensitive to the correlation length and, therefore, have the ability to reveal the existence of the critical point via possible non-monotonic behavior. The new NA61/SHINE results are compared to the model predictions.
