Н.Л. Духова».

The elastic characteristics of the shell are analytically described and obtained a numerical shape factor of the first longitudinal frequency is calculated. There is description of new measuring units that provide data gathering by automatic or half-automatic mode. The elastic modulus and internal friction temperature dependences are determined by application of high-temperature modernized device that provides carrying out experiments at a temperature of 1160 K. Obtained effect could be interpreted by the crushing of the structure of the material.

All rights reserved.During the implementation of strategic research program of the Technology Platform “Closed Nuclear Fuel Cycle with Fast Reactors”, hot cells are fitted with original non-standard equipment for primary post-reactor non-destructive studies of critical fast reactor materials. These materials include chrome-iron alloys, considered as promising for fuel rod cladding of fast neutron reactors. During the investigation via the ultrasonic spectroscopic method of internal friction of cylindrical samples from chrome-iron alloys in a narrow temperature range near 550 K at their cooling with rate of about 0.2 K/s, we have revealed an anomalous effect from the point of view of oscillations classical theory. Its peculiarity consists in the occurrence of coupled oscillations in samples with a nonuniform temperature distribution along the radius, in case the interval of temperature variation contains the point of the magnetic phase transition of the material. Such a sample can be considered as a complex oscillatory system consisting of peripheral (cooler) and central areas in different magnetic states, with a pulsating interface, on which mechanical stresses act. It was estimated that this anomalous mode of oscillations is associated with the influence of dynamic vibrational stresses on formation and magnetic phase transformations in carbonitride inclusions occurring during heat treatment of alloys. A theoretical description of this effect is proposed. It is shown that by registering the parameters of coupled oscillations, it is possible to estimate the sizes of the resulting phase inclusions. The discovered features and established regularities of resonance oscillations in combination with the traditional method of internal friction can be used to detect metastable phase inclusions occurring at intermediate stages of the material structure, and to estimate their sizes. It will undoubtedly be useful in the case of primary non-destructive tests in hot cells of heavily irradiated samples of these alloys when optimizing their composition for fuel rod claddings of fast neutron reactors.

We analytically described elastic characteristics of cladding material and obtained coefficient of the form of the first longitudinal frequency numerically. We described new measuring module for automatic acquisition data. We've established temperature dependences of Young's modulus and internal friction via high-temperature facility and developed electronic module and noted maximum of these characteristics at the temperature 1160 K. It can be explained by the destruction of the texture in the material of claddings.
- ПубликацияТолько метаданныеAssessing the Size of Phase Inclusions in Ferrochrome Alloys by Means of Ultrasound Resonance(2019) Berestov, A. V.; Kudryavtsev, E. M.; Martynenko, S. P.; Rod'ko, I. I.; Берестов, Александр Васильевич; Мартыненко, Сергей Павлович; Родько, Илья Игоревич© 2019, Allerton Press, Inc.Abstract: In the strategic research program on closing the nuclear fuel cycle with fast neutron reactors, nonstandard equipment must be introduced in the fuel chambers for nondestructive monitoring of materials that are critical to fast neutron reactors. In particular, ferrochromium alloys are regarded as promising for the fuel-element casings of fast neutron reactors. An unexpected effect is observed in ultrasonic spectroscopy of cylindrical ferrochromium-alloy samples by the internal-friction method, in a narrow temperature range close to 550 K on cooling at around 0.2 K/s: coupled oscillations are seen in samples with a nonuniform temperature distribution over the radius if the temperature range includes the material’s point of magnetic phase transition (Curie point). Such a sample may be regarded as a complex oscillatory system consisting of a peripheral (cooler) region and a central region in different magnetic states. Mechanical stress is present at the pulsating boundary of those regions. Such anomalous oscillation is associated with the influence of dynamic oscillatory stress on the formation of carbonitride inclusions in heat treatment and on the magnetic phase transitions in those inclusions. A theoretical description of this effect is proposed. By recording the parameters of the coupled oscillations, the size of the phase inclusions that form may be estimated. By means of these resonant oscillations, in combination with the traditional internal-friction method, metastable phase inclusions appearing in intermediate stages of structure formation in the material may be detected, and their dimensions may be estimated. This will be of great value in the primary nondestructive testing of highly irradiated alloy samples in the fuel chambers when optimizing the alloy composition for the fuel-element casings in fast neutron reactors.
