The visualization method pipeline for the application to dynamic data analysis
    (2019) Popov, D.; Grigorieva, M.; Galkin, T.; Pilyugin, V.; Пилюгин, Виктор Васильевич

Use permitted under Creative Commons License Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).The new era of scientific research brings an enormous amount of data for scientists. These complex and multidimensional data structures are used for the verification of scientific hypothesis. Exploring such data by researchers requires the development of new technologies for its efficient processing, investigation and interpretation. Intellectual data analysis and statistical methods are rapidly developing, and this is where visualization methods are getting their place. This work describes mathematical basis of the developed visualization tool for the analysis of multidimensional dynamic data. This tool provides the pipeline of methods, which combined, allow to cope with a set of practical tasks (anomalies detection, cluster, trends and variation analysis) using visualization method. Authors provided mathematical models of geometrical operations under the data domain, algorithms for solving the mentioned classes of tasks and several use-cases with technological and economic data based on visualization method.

Compression and visualization of the operational parameters archive
(2020) Zagrebayev, A.; Pilyugin, V.; Ten, S.; Загребаев, Андрей Маркоянович; Пилюгин, Виктор Васильевич
© 2020 for this paper by its authors. Use permitted under Creative Commons License Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).This article describes the mathematical apparatus for express analysis of the archive of operational parameters. The developed algorithms based on the methods of reducing the dimension of the space of variables and the “Chernoff Faces” method allow visualizing the dynamics of changes in generalized limiting parameters, as well as visually determining the approximation or intersection of permitted values by parameters, which in turn can provide scientific and practical use in improving quality of operational personnel work and analysis of situations requiring additional attention and more detailed analysis.

Visual analytics and its use in the NRNU MEPhI “Scientific Visualization” laboratory activities
    (2019) Milman, I.; Pilyugin, V. V.; Пилюгин, Виктор Васильевич
© 2019 National Research Nuclear University. All rights reserved. The article discusses visual analytics, which, according to J. Thomas, is understood as the solution of problems of data analysis using a facilitating interactive visual interface. Today, visual analytics is widely used in various fields - in research, design, management and others, due to the well-known predisposition of people to spatial thinking. Despite the wide usage, according to the authors, the theoretical aspects of visual analytics are not well developed at present, which is certainly a limiting factor in the development of visual analytics tools and its effective use in practice. It is declared in the article, that one of the most common of the forms of visual analytics is solution of data analysis problems using the visualization method. The visualization method is described in details and a number of works done by the “Scientific Visualization” laboratory NRNU MEPhI in this area are presented as an example of usage of the visualization method. The works were performed in different subject areas from physics to finance and monitoring.

Evaluation of the Level-of-Detail Generator for Visual Analysis of the ATLAS Computing Metadata
    (2019) Grigorieva, M. A.; Titov, M. A.; Alekseev, A. A.; Klimentov, A. A.; Artamonov, A. A.; Milman, I. E.; Galkin, T. P.; Pilyugin, V. V.; Артамонов, Алексей Анатольевич; Пилюгин, Виктор Васильевич
© 2019, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.The ATLAS experiment at the LHC processes, analyses and stores vast amounts of data, which is either recorded by the detector or simulated worldwide using Monte Carlo methods. ATLAS Computing metadata is generated at very high rates and volumes. The necessity to analyze this metadata is constantly increasing, since the heterogeneous, distributed and dynamically changing computing infrastructure requires sophisticated optimization decisions, made by human or/and by machines. Visual analytics is one of the methods facilitating the analysis of massive amounts of data (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured) which leverages human judgement by means of interactive visual representations. Given the huge number of ATLAS computing jobs that need to be visualized simultaneously for error investigations or other optimization processes, resources of the client application responsible for such visualization may reach its limits. Data objects that share similar feature values can be represented and visualized as a single group, thus initial large data sample would be represented at different levels of detail. This approach will also avoid client overload. In this paper we evaluate implementations of k-means-based Level-of-Detail generator method applied to the metadata of ATLAS jobs. This method is used in the visual analytics application InVEx (Interactive Visual Explorer) that is under development, and which is based on 3-dimensional interactive visualization of multidimensional data.

Visualization of the operational parameters archive of a nuclear reactor
(2021) Ten, S.; Zagrebayev, A.; Pilyugin, V.; Загребаев, Андрей Маркоянович; Пилюгин, Виктор Васильевич
© 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors. For the most part, the solution of the problem of visualizing any data depends on the structure, size and type of data provided. In this work, the data are archives of RBMK or VVER reactors provided from different control and protection systems of the reactors. Despite the fact that several visualization complexes have already been developed, the visualization task is still relevant due to the necessity to improve the quality of monitoring systems and operational personnel. This paper describes the mathematical apparatus for express analysis of the archive of operational parameters of a VVER nuclear reactor. The developed software makes it possible to carry out express analysis of the VVER reactor archive in terms of plotting altitude or time graphs, as well as using dynamic visualization using the Chernoff faces method, which in turn can provide scientific and practical benefits due to improvement the work quality of operating personnel and conduction analysis of situations that requires additional attention and more detailed analysis. Also, the fundamental concept of this work is the method of scientific visualization, which is widely used in various theoretical and experimental studies. It can be said that the main aim of scientific visualization is to make invisible visible.

Software Package for Three-Dimensional Visualization of the Behavior of Neutron Fields and Archived Parameters During the Operation of the RBMK-1000 Reactor
(2022) Bukalin, A. O.; Zagrebayev, A. M.; Pilyugin, V. V.; Букалин, Алексей Олегович; Загребаев, Андрей Маркоянович; Пилюгин, Виктор Васильевич
© 2022 National Research Nuclear University. All rights reserved. This paper describes the calculation algorithm, software package and visualization of the three-dimensional neutron field deformation according to the archive of the RBMK (high-power pressure-tube reactor) reactor operational parameters. The determination of the field deformation is based on finding "natural" functions for approximating the readings of in-reactor control discretely located sensors. This paper considers the use of generally accepted harmonic functions and "natural" functions for describing the spatial deformation of the neutron field. It is shown that to describe the deformation of the neutron field, it is sufficient to use only a few "natural" functions, in contrast to the use of all harmonic functions from a given set. This, in turn, opens up new possibilities, in particular, for solving the problems of predictive diagnostics of in-reactor control sensors.
