Energy Spectra of Alpha Particles in the Interaction of 56Fe Nuclei with Tantalum and Uranium Nuclei at an Energy of 320 MeV
    (2021) Samarin, V. V.; Maslov, V. A.; Lukyanov, S. M.; Aznabayev, D.; Penionzhkevich, Y. E.; Пенионжкевич, Юрий Эрастович
© 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Abstract: The differential cross sections for alpha-particle emission at an angle of 0◦ in the reactions induced by a 6-MeV/nucleon 56Fe beams incident to 238U and 181Ta targets were measured versus the alpha-particle energy by means of a high-resolution magnetic analyzer (MAVR setup). The resulting spectra were found to contain fast alpha particles of energy corresponding to the two- and three-body exit reaction channels, including alpha particles of energy close to the two-body kinematical limit. The data obtained in this experiment were analyzed on the basis of the moving-source model. The emission of nonequilibrium alpha particles in the forward direction from the heavier target nucleus upon the complete or incomplete fusion of nuclei was revealed within the time-dependent quantum approach.

Elastic scattering analysis of isobar nuclei A = 6 projectiles on 12C using different models of optical potential
    (2021) Amer, A. H.; Penionzhkevich, Y. E.; Пенионжкевич, Юрий Эрастович
© 2021 Elsevier B.V.In this research, we have extracted a new systematic global description for the fifteen data sets of the 6Li+12C elastic scattering angular distribution in the energy range of 5.8–600 MeV, and for the seven data sets of the 6He+12C elastic scattering in the energy range of 5.9–493.8 MeV using the simple optical model OM potential with fixed radii parameters. We have reanalyzed the two nuclear systems using a microscopic method within the framework of the double folding São Paulo potential (SPP) and the double folding cluster model (renormalized DFC1 and non-renormalized DFC2), prompted by the cluster structure of both (6He and 6Li) nuclei. We have adding the dynamic polarization potential (DPP) to DFC2, for well reproducing the experimental data, because the elastic scattering of weakly bound nuclei (6He and 6Li) is strongly affected by the coupling to other reaction channels, such as break-up. We have studied the effect of hallo properties of 6He by comparing the reflexion coefficients derivatives and the reduced cross sections (according to different prescriptions) of the two projectiles. The energy dependence for the reaction cross sections σR, real and imaginary volume integrals of the considered reactions and comparing it to the previously reported ones have been investigated. The dispersion relation between real and imaginary parts of optical potential has been investigated for both studied systems.

GAMMA-RAY SPECTROMETER ASSEMBLED FROM 9×CeBr3-NaI(Tl) PHOSWICH DETECTORS
    (2021) Zeinulla, Z. h.; Sobolev, Yu. G.; Stukalov, S. S.; Sivacek, I.; Penionzhkevich, Yu. E.; Пенионжкевич, Юрий Эрастович
© 2021 Jagellonian University. All rights reserved. The technique of using a cluster of 9×CeBr3-NaI(Tl) phoswich detectors as a Compton suppression spectrometer for detecting low-energy Eγ < 4 MeV γ-radiation is investigated. The characteristics of a phoswich detectors cluster and a High-Purity Germanium detector (HPGe) with a BGO shield are compared. The main characteristics of γ-ray spectrometer: the energy resolutions ∆E, the total registration efficiency εγ and the peak efficiency εPEAK, depending on the energies Eγ of the registered γ-rays and on the distances to the source, are presented. It is shown that the Compton suppression coefficient values of both spectrometers are the same, while the peak efficiency of the phoswich cluster is three times higher than in the HPGe detector. The Compton suppression mode of the phoswich cluster is supposed to be used for studying β-delayed γ-decay processes, particularly direct γ-decay of Pygmy resonances.

Special Features of Nuclear Reactions Involving Loosely Bound Cluster Nuclei
    (2019) Penionzhkevich, Y. E.; Пенионжкевич, Юрий Эрастович
© 2019, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Reactions involving loosely bound nuclei have many special features. An enhancement of interaction cross sections in the subbarrier energy region is one of them. This effect is pronounced for nuclei that have a cluster structure. Transfer and complete-fusion reactions are dominant interaction channels for them. Experimental data on the cross sections for fusion reactions induced by such nuclei deviate strongly from the predictions of the statistical compound-nucleus model at energies in the vicinity of the Coulomb barrier. Also, the cross sections for neutron transfer from 3,6,8He and deuteron transfer from 6,9Li were found to grow at deep subbarrier energies. These results are discussed from the point of view of the effect of the cluster structure of nuclei on the probability for their interaction at energies in the vicinity of the Coulomb barrier. A theoretical analysis of relevant experimental data was performed with allowance for the effect of outer neutrons and clusters in loosely bound nuclei of bombarding particles. The results of the present study may be used to solve some problems of astrophysics—in particular, to obtain deeper insight into the mechanism of the production of light elements in the Universe.

Dynamics of the Neutron Transfer Process in the Reaction 181 Ta(18 O, 19 O) at an Energy of 10 MeV per Nucleon
    (2021) Azhibekov, A. K.; Lukyanov, S. M.; Issatayev, T.; Maslov, V. A.; Penionzhkevich, Y. E.; Пенионжкевич, Юрий Эрастович
© 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Abstract: The results of an experiment carried out on the MAVR high-resolution magnetic spectrometer and devoted to studying neutron transfer in the 18O+181Ta reaction at the projectile energy of 10 MeV per nucleon are presented. A theoretical analysis of the experimental cross sections is performed for the neutron transfer mechanism by means of a time-dependent approach based on solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. The dynamics of the neutron transfer process is described, and the probabilities for the population of unoccupied neutron levels in the 19O nucleus are determined.

Emission of high-energy alpha particles in nuclear reactions of 48Ca and 56Fe ions on 181Ta and 238U targets
    (2022) Penionzhkevich, Yu. E.; Samarin, V. V.; Lukyanov, S. M.; Maslov, V. A.; Naumenko, M. A.; Пенионжкевич, Юрий Эрастович
The results of experiments on measuring the energy spectra of alpha particles in reactions with heavy ions are presented. The measurements were performed using the high-resolution magnetic analyzer MAVR with beams of 48Ca (280 MeV) and 56Fe (320 and 400 MeV) on 181Ta and 238U targets at an angle of 0°. A strong dependence of the double differential cross sections for production of alpha particles on the atomic number of the target nucleus was observed, which indicates that fast alpha particles are mainly emitted from the target nucleus; this conclusion was also confirmed by calculations within the time-dependent Schrödinger equation approach. An analysis of the obtained experimental data was carried out within the model of moving sources modified to consider the kinematic limits for two-body and three-body exit channels. © 2022 Chinese Physical Society and the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and IOP Publishing Ltd.
