© 2019, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.In this paper we continue developing an earlier proposed model of quark-gluon blob (QGB) production with large orbital momentum, which allows to demonstrate and study different properties of nucleus-nucleus interactions. In particular, the number of nucleons and transferred energy in QGB are considered and comparison with predictions of other models is analyzed.

In this paper we discuss the calibration of the NEVOD-EAS array which is a part of the Experimental Complex NEVOD, as well as the results of studying the response features of its scintillation detectors. We present the results of the detectors energy calibration, performed by comparing their response to different types of particles obtained experimentally and simulated with the Geant4 software package, as well as of the measurements of their timing resolution. We also discuss the results of studies of the light collection non-uniformity of the NEVOD-EAS detectors and of the accuracy of air-shower arrival direction reconstruction, which have been performed using other facilities of the Experimental Complex NEVOD: the muon hodoscope URAGAN and the muon tracking detector DECOR.

2021, Budnev, N., Bezyazeekov, P., Bonvech, E., Borodin, A., Astapov, I., Kindin, V., Kokoulin, R., Kompaniets, K., Petrukhin, A., Yashin, I., Астапов, Иван Иванович, Киндин, Виктор Владимирович, Кокоулин, Ростислав Павлович, Компаниец, Константин Георгиевич, Петрухин, Анатолий Афанасьевич, Яшин, Игорь Иванович
© 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Abstract: The physics motivations and advantages of the hybrid detector complex TAIGA are presented. TAIGA aims to address gamma-ray astronomy at energies from a few TeV to several PeV units, as well as cosmic-ray physics from 100 TeV to several EeV units and astroparticle physics problems. In 2021 deployment and commissioning of the one square kilometer TAIGA setup in the Tunka valley ∼50 km West from Lake Baikal will be finished. The first experimental results with the TAIGA are presented.

© 2019, Allerton Press, Inc.Abstract—: The TAIGA (Tunka Advanced Instrument for cosmic ray physics and Gamma-ray Astronomy) experiment aims at observing gamma-rays in the energy range from 1 TeV to several 100 TeV. The operation of the observatory is based on a new hybrid approach that combines imaging air Cherenkov telescopes (IACTs) and wide-angle Cherenkov detectors (TAIGA-HiSCORE) for measuring times of extensive air shower (EAS) light front arrival. Monte Carlo simulations are compared to real data to determine the performance of the detector setup. Dedicated software and algorithms are described, model parameters are given, and an overview of the current status of model-based performance studies is presented.
