The invasion extent and parasites′ localisation in organs of European whiting Micromesistius poutassou (Risso) and southern blue whiting M. australis Norman were studied. A very strong infestation of European blue whiting muscles by Anisakis larvae was found while muscles of southern blue whiting were heavily parasitised by a protozoan, Kudoa sp. A consumability of parasitised fish is described.
