By means of columnar and thin-layer chromatography, the author investigated the presence of various carotenoids in six fish species from the Antarctic (Dissostichus eleginoides, Notothenia gibberifrons, Pseudochaenichtys georgianus, Trematomus hansoni, Trematomus bernacchii and Bathydraco macrolepis). The presence of the 20 carotenoids has been found.
