dc.descriptionHistological studies on kidney of rainbow trout individuals reared in freshwater ponds prior to their release into the Baltic as well as of those kept for several weeks in tanks filled with fresh and Baltic water revealed a reduction in number and size of Malpighi bodies, smaller lumen of renal tubules, and a lymphoid tissue proliferation in kidney parenchyma to have occurred in fishes dwelling in sea water.
