dc.description.abstract© 2022 Elsevier B.V.One of the features of the field of space radiation inside a spacecraft during an orbital flight is the presence of a secondary component in its composition. This component is generated in the environment due to nuclear interactions of primary radiation with the walls of the spacecraft, material load, biological objects, electronics, etc. Secondary radiation consists mainly of charged particles of a wide energy range and neutrons. The fluence of secondaries can be non-uniform, especially in the region adjacent to the vertex of the nuclear interaction. In this region, the local energy absorbed in matter can significantly exceed the volume average values. In this paper a calculation method is considered and the probability of large energy transfer in fragmentation events in the vicinity of the nuclear interaction vertex is estimated.
