© 2002-2011 IEEE.We considered and analyzed feasible technologies to develop mobile nicrowave devices with 3 T magnetic field generated by a superconducting magnet. Two types of superconducting magnets made of HTS or NbTi wires were analyzed. Three possible cooling methods and cryostats are discussed based on the previously published and tested experience. The cost of superconducting wire and their technology maturity are compared. Then we reviewed cooling methods and cryostats using previous researches and discussed approaches possible. We concluded that the conventional technology with a NbTi magnet working at persistent-mode and a transportable liquid helium cryostat with forced current leads is the best choice. This technology has a technology readiness level of at least 8-9 and is superior in maturity, and therefore reliability, to all others.
