dc.description.abstract© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.Experimental data on assessing the impact of acute gamma irradiation on growth parameters and the nature of damage to fronds of Lemna minor L. and Spirodella polyrrhiza L. is presented. An actuality of the study is determined by the need to identify radiosensitive species for their use as reference species. In this work, radiosensitivity of two species of duckweed was determined through different biological parameters. It is found that the growth parameters of Lemna minor L. are possible to use to assess the degree of radioactive contamination.
