The article explores the urgency of new moments in evaluating the events of the Patriotic War of 1812 and the October Revolution with the use of the potential of the concepts of "suggestion" and "counter-aggression" that has not been used to the full. With this in mind, the interpretation of the novel "War and Peace" by L. Tolstoy and M. Aldanov's trilogy "The Key", "Flight", and "The Cave" are given as full-fledged historical sources from the perspective of the dialectic of suggestion and counter-suggestion. In particular, this interpretation is based on the concept of a post-non-classical type of scientific rationality (V. Stepin), which implies the involvement of all types of knowledge to explain the nature and essence of historical phenomena that are not grasped by established cognitive procedures, including such a source as works of fiction. The demand for the concepts of "suggestion" and "countersuggestion", which the historian B. Porshnev brought into the discourse of social sciences, is demonstrated; given their extended definition in line with the interdisciplinary approach.
