dc.description.abstract© 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.In this work we investigated the possibility of increasing the efficiency of aluminum oxide protective coating on EP-823 steel by applying a sublayer consisted of aluminum and steel components before the coating deposition. It is shown that Fe-Cr-Al sublayer is able to prevent the steel corrosion in a molten lead flow in the case of damage of the oxide coating. In addition, the sublayer reduces the risk of delamination of aluminum oxide and slows down the transport of iron atoms from the steel towards the surface.
