dc.description.abstract© 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.The use of the principle of components redundancy due to the requirements of operation for automated process control systems (APCS) is one of the ways to improve the fault tolerance of the system. This article discusses the implementation of hot standby system for control computer systems based on Elbrus microprocessors. The developed system is built on the basis of the duplicated architecture and includes two processor modules MP17 developed by JSC “INEUM named after I. S. Bruk”. The structure of software and hardware of the considered system is given, the implementation of algorithms of the reservation system is described. The introduction of this system will help to improve the reliability and fault tolerance of the process control system.
