dc.description.abstract© 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.Counterparts of the Dyson - Schwinger equations for scalar QED in an external electromagnetic field are derived. Exact structure and diagrammatic interpretation of the corresponding mass and polarization operators are obtained. It is shown that in the presence of an external field the final equations include an exact three - photon interaction vertex.
