dc.description.abstract© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.The structure and thermal diffusivity of SiC - NbC ceramic materials are investigated. It is shown that with a change in the composition in sintered ceramics, the lattice parameter changes, and also in the near-contact region there is a mutual diffusion of silicon and niobium. This indicates the formation of solid solutions. As the niobium carbide content and temperature increase, the thermal diffusivity of SiC - NbC ceramic materials decreases.
