dc.description.abstractBi2Te3/graphite nanocomposite samples were prepared by mixing different weight percentage of graphite (x=0.0, 0.5 and 1.0) with Bi2Te3 and then subsequently ball milled. XRD results indicate the solid state insolubility of graphite phases in Bi2Te3 as no shift was observed in the peaks corresponding to Bi2Te3 in the composite samples. We investigated Seebeck coefficient S, conductivity sigma, thermal conductivity kappa, and, hence, the thermoelectrical figure of merit ZT in the temperature interval 80 K < T < 300 K. With increasing graphite content, Seebeck coefficient increases, conductivity increases and thermal conductivity essentially decreases in Bi2Te3/graphite nanocomposites. It leads to increase of dimensionless figure of merit ZT in investigated nanocomposites. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
