dc.description.abstractWe report on Yb-doped fiber laser capable of generating temporally shaped pulses at 1064 nm with 4-ns shaping resolution. The pulses are generated by modulation of a continuous-wave laser and subsequent amplification by a 2-stage fiber amplifier. Such laser can be used as seed in more powerful solid state laser systems.
