Application of OpenCL to numerical study of the Abrikosov vortex system in superconductor with cylindrical hole
    (2019) Kartsev, P. F.; Korchagin, D. S.;
© 2019 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).We solve numerically the system of Ginzburg-Landau equations describing a superconductor containing Abrikosov vortices in the special geometry essential for practical application: bulk material with a cylindrical hole. We apply the GPU OpenCL solver developed especially for vortex-type problems. We describe the OpenCL specific optimizations used for maximal GPU utilization and overall calculation performance.

Pulsed laser deposition of nanostructured MoS3/np-Mo//WO3-y hybrid catalyst for enhanced (Photo) electrochemical hydrogen evolution
(2019) Gnedovets, A.; Novikov, S.; Fominskii, V.; Fominski, D.; Romanov, R.; Kartsev, P.; Rubinkovskaya, O.;
© 2019 by the authors. Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.Pulsed laser ablation of MoS2 and WO3 targets at appropriate pressures of background gas (Ar, air) were used for the preparation of new hybrid nanostructured catalytic films for hydrogen production in an acid solution. The films consisted of a nanostructured WO3-y underlayer that was covered with composite MoS3/np-Mo nanocatalyst. The use of dry air with pressures of 40 and 80 Pa allowed the formation of porous WO3-y films with cauliflower- and web-like morphology, respectively. The ablation of the MoS2 target in Ar gas at a pressure of 16 Pa resulted in the formation of amorphousMoS3films and spherical Mo nanoparticles. The hybrid MoS3/np-Mo//WO3-y films deposited on transparent conducting substrates possessed the enhanced (photo)electrocatalytic performance in comparison with that of any pristine one (MoS3/np-Mo or WO3-y films) with the same loading. Modeling by the kinetic Monte Carlo method indicated that the change in morphology of the deposited WO3-y films could be caused by the transition of ballistic deposition to diffusion limited aggregation of structural units (atoms/clusters) under background gas pressure growth. The factors and mechanisms contributing to the enhancement of the electrocatalytic activity of hybrid nanostructured films and facilitating the effective photo-activation of hydrogen evolution in these films are considered.

Stages of the Excitation Relaxation in a Superconductor after the Impact of a Femtosecond Laser Pulse Taking into Account the Momentum Distribution of Quasiparticles
(2019) Kartsev, P. F.; Kuznetsov, I. O.;
© 2019, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.A theoretical model is formulated for the description of the nonequilibrium state of a superconductor on the basis of the nonequilibrium distribution function of phonons and quasiparticles on a finite momentum lattice convenient for numerical simulation. The simulation is performed under conditions of pulsed optical impact demonstrating the role of excess quasiparticles in suppressing the order parameter and the main stages of the relaxation process in the absence of electric current.

Selection of pulsed laser deposition conditions for preparation of perfect thin-film MoSx hydrogen evolution catalysts
    (2019) Nevolin, V. N.; Fominski, D. V.; Romanov, R. I.; Esin, M. I.; Fominski, V. Y.; Kartsev, P. F.;
© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.The influence of pulsed laser deposition conditions in the geometry "off-axis" on the catalytic properties of MoSx films in the hydrogen evolution reaction is investigated. For the deposition of MoSx films from MoS2 target, pulsed laser radiation from the IR and UV wavelength ranges was used. The angle of incidence of the laser-induced plume on the surface of the substrate in a buffer gas was varied to check the influence of large in-size Mo-enriched particles. The efficiency of the catalyst was estimated from the results of the turnover frequency (TOF) measurement, which made it possible to minimize the influence of the "loading" of the catalyst on its characteristics. The effects of the chemical composition, local structure, and properties of the catalyst-substrate interface on the efficiency of the hydrogen evolution reaction are analysed. The regime of pulsed laser deposition of more effective thin-film MoSx catalysts is determined.

Generalized Quantum Monte Carlo Algorithm in Eigen Basis
(2019) Kashurnikov, V.; Krasavin, A. V.; Zhumagulov, Y.; Kartsev, P. F.;
© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.New generalized continuous-time quantum Monte Carlo algorithm is developed. The algorithm is absolutely universal in the sense that it allows to calculate models specified in an arbitrary basis (in the basis of occupation numbers; in the momentum representation; in the basis of the eigenfunctions of small clusters into which the entire system is divided, or in any other basis): the algorithm requires only the specification of the matrix elements between the basis functions defined in a convenient basis. The implemented algorithm is applied to one-dimensional Hubbard model.
