© 2020 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.This work reports the morphology and evolution of deformation relief of polycrystalline nickel. The morphological peculiarities of the relief are investigated using atomic force microscopy. The material fragmentation is shown to be presented by shear strain domains. The main structural elements of the deformation relief are the packs of shear traces and macrobands. The strain (taking into account the individual structural elements of the relief through the sample) is found to be qualitatively equal at the different scales, exhibiting the quasiperiodic behavior. The shear traces with increase in strain are found to evolve into macrobands. In turn, the strain-induced macrobands are composed of the individual shear levels and possess a quasiperiodic profile.
