© 2019 Author(s).We develop an integral-consistent difference scheme by means of a support-operator method. The basic difference operator is constructed via the first variation of the energy functional related to the coupled matter-electromagnetic field system. This operator gives rise to other difference approximations in our discrete model. It can be represented as a discrete convolution of Maxwell stress tensor. Using the support-operator approximation we construct this operator in a form which naturally provides the Lorentz force approximation.
