The Possibility of Using C3-C4 Calorimeter Leak Detectors for Neutron Registration in the GAMMA-400 Complex
    (2020) Kadilin, V. V.; Naumov, P. Y.; Наумов, Петр Юрьевич
© 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Abstract: The article describes the method for modifying the scintillation calorimeter detectors C3 (S3) and C4 (S4) of the GAMMA-400 space complex in order to obtain the possibility of detecting neutrons produced in the process of passing electrons (positrons) and high-energy protons through detector matter. The presented method will allow to increase the rejection factor of background radiation without degrading the basic capabilities of the detectors S3 and S4.

© 2019, Allerton Press, Inc.Abstract: The future space-based γ-ray telescope GAMMA-400 will be installed on the Navigator platform of the Russian astrophysical observatory. A highly elliptical orbit will allow prolonged (~100 days) continuous observations of many regions of the celestial sphere for 7–10 years. GAMMA-400 will measure fluxes of γ‑ray emission in the energy range of ~20 MeV to several TeV and electrons + positrons to ~20 TeV. The γ-ray telescope will have excellent separation of γ-ray emissions against the background of cosmic rays and electrons + positrons from protons, along with unprecedented angular (~0.01° at Eγ = 100 GeV) and energy (~1% at Eγ = 100 GeV) resolutions 5–10 times better than for the Fermi-LAT and ground-based γ-ray telescopes. GAMMA-400 observations will provide fundamentally new data on discrete sources and spectra of γ-ray emissions and electrons + positrons.

Forward Hodoscopes of Charged Nuclei Fragments for the BM @ N Experiment
    (2021) Baranov, A. G.; Baskov, V. A.; Gerasimov, D. P.; Guber, F. F.; Naumov, P. Y.; Salakhutdinov, G. K.; Наумов, Петр Юрьевич; Салахутдинов, Гаяр Харисович
© 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Abstract: Two versions of a forward hodoscope have been developed and manufactured based on scintillation and radiation-resistant quartz plates. The hodoscopes are designed to register ions in the BM @ N experiment at the NICA accelerator complex. The light outputs and their inhomogeneity were measured as a function of the coordinates of the passage of particles through the hodoscope plates on the calibration beam of the secondary electrons of the “Pakhra” synchrotron of the Lebedev Physical Institute.

Topological properties of Josephson current between two s-and p-wave superconducting nanowires with Majorana fermions
    (2020) Nakhmedov, E.; Suleymanli, B. D.; Naumov, P. Y.; Наумов, Петр Юрьевич
© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.Josephson current between two one-dimensional nanowires with proximity induced either s-wave or p-wave pairing and separated by a narrow dielectric barrier is calculated in the presence of Rashba spin-orbit interaction, in-plane and normal Zeeman magnetic fields. We show that Andreev retro-Tunneling is realized by means of two channels. The main contribution to the Josephson current in junction of s-or p-wave superconductors is shown to give Andreev scattering in a conventional particle-hole channel, when an electron-like quasiparticle reflects to a hole-like quasiparticle with opposite spin yielding a current which depends only on the order parameters' phase differences φ and oscillates with fractional 4π period. Nevertheless Andreev bound state energy in second anomalous particle-hole channel, corresponding to the reflection of an incident electron-like quasiparticle to a hole-like quasiparticle with the same spin orientation, survives only in the presence of the in-plane magnetic field, and oscillates with 4π period not only with φ but also with orientational angle of the in-plane magnetic field θ resulting in a magneto-Josephson effect. In the presence of Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC) and normal-To-plane magnetic field h, a forbidden gap is shown to open in the dependence of Andreev bound state energies on the phases φ and θ at several values of SOC strength and magnetic field, where Josephson current seems to vanish. The magnetic fields destroy also the particle-hole symmetry of the mid-gap states around Fermi level.

New method of high-energy gamma ray direction reconstruction in multilayered converters

© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.A new method of high-energy gamma ray incident direction reconstruction is developed for gamma-ray detectors with multilayered converters. The method uses data from converter and, if available, from position-sensitive calorimeter to reconstruct an electromagnetic cascade axis and to determine the incident direction of a primary gamma. For the first time to find point of intersection of gamma direction line with convertor plane, median of energy deposit in sensitive plane of convertor is used. Applied, for example, to the GAMMA-400 space-based gamma-ray telescope this method allowed to achieve the angular resolution ∼0.01° at gamma-ray energy of 100 GeV, being much better than accuracy of the past and present space- A nd ground-based experiments. In the algorithm presented, a balance between the angular resolution and the effective area can be found to meet a scientific goal of an experiment.

The Amplitude Parameters of Prototypes of the Forward Hodoscopes for the BM@N Experiment
    (2021) Baranov, A. G.; Guber, F. F.; Ivashkin, A. P.; Izvestnyy, A. V.; Salakhutdinov, G. K.; Naumov, P. Y.; Салахутдинов, Гаяр Харисович; Наумов, Петр Юрьевич
© 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Designs of hodoscopes of nuclear fragments based on quartz and scintillation plates with light pickup by silicon avalanche photodiodes are described. Hodoscopes are planned for use in the BM@N experiment for registration of heavy nuclear fragments near the axis of the heavy ion beam. The results of measurements of light yields in detector elements based on quartz and scintillation plates on the electron beam of the synchrotron "Pakhra" (LPI) are presented. The measured nonuniformity of the light collection shows that readout from both sides of hodoscope detector elements is needed.

The future space-based GAMMA-400 gamma-ray telescope will be installed on the Navigator platform of the Russian Astrophysical Observatory. A highly elliptical orbit will provide observations for 7-10 years of many regions of the celestial sphere continuously for a long time ( 100 days). GAMMA-400 will measure gamma-ray fluxes in the energy range from similar to 20 MeV to several TeV and electron + positron fluxes up to similar to 20 TeV. GAMMA-400 will have an excellent separation of gamma rays from the background of cosmic rays and electrons + positrons from protons and an unprecedented angular (similar to 0.01 degrees at E-gamma = 100 GeV) and energy (similar to 1% at E-gamma = 100 GeV) resolutions better than for Fermi-LAT, as well as ground-based facilities, by a factor of 5-10. Observations of GAMMA-400 will provide new fundamental data on discrete sources and spectra of gamma-ray emission and electrons + positrons, as well as the nature of dark matter.
