    © 2019, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.A theoretical model is formulated for the description of the nonequilibrium state of a superconductor on the basis of the nonequilibrium distribution function of phonons and quasiparticles on a finite momentum lattice convenient for numerical simulation. The simulation is performed under conditions of pulsed optical impact demonstrating the role of excess quasiparticles in suppressing the order parameter and the main stages of the relaxation process in the absence of electric current.

    © 2021 IOP Publishing Ltd.We study the suppression of superconductivity with ultrashort laser pulse in the presence of transport current. The theoretical model is based on the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer relations for the superconducting state coupled with kinetic equations for nonequilibrium Bogoliubov quasiparticles and phonons. The results of numerical simulation for picosecond and femtosecond laser pulses of optical and infrared ranges are given. We discuss the effects of main problem parameters, including the current density.

    Numerical simulation of suppression of superconductivity with ultrashort laser pulse

    IEEEWe study the problem of switching the superconductor to normal state with ultrashort laser pulse. We use original theoretical model based on kinetic equation for nonequilibrium Bogoliubov quasiparticles and phonons coupled with BCS theory relations for superconducting order parameter. Numerical simulation of the model allows to obtain the general behavior of excess particles and superconducting energy gap, and shows the characteristic features of the relaxation processes observed in experiment. In this work, we investigate the gap suppression in a superconductor excited with ultrashort laser pulse, and show the effects of laser frequency and transport current density on the duration of the process.
